Gaston Regional SkyWarn was formed in April of 2020 by the officers of the Gaston Radio Club. With the demise of the Piedmont Spotter Group,
the area was in need of another weather spotter group. The officers, Tony Jones N4ATJ, Robert Wells W7CSA, and Fred Clemmer W4FAC met on a
Sunday afternoon in April of 2020 and formed the Gaston Regional Spotter Group. Later on, the National Weather Service awarded the
Gaston Regional Spotter Group the designation as a SkyWarn organization.
OUR MISSION: "The Gaston Regional SKYWARN Team's mission is to provide communication services for the collection of severe weather
reports and dissemination of critical weather information in support of the National Weather Service and its mission to protect life and
property by improving warning accuracy.

The Gaston Regional Spotter Group was established as a division of the Gaston Radio Club,
and is governed by the board of Directors of the Gaston Radio Club. The Gaston Regional SkyWarn day to day operations are ran
by the Captain of the Gaston Regional SkyWarn, and he or she reports to the Board Members of the Gaston Radio Club
